Mayor Kasim Reed announced today that the Atlanta Housing Authority’s (AHA) Board of Commissioners has voted unanimously to approve an amendment to its Fiscal Year 2016 Moving to Work Plan. The amendment authorizes the transfer of land from AHA to the City of Atlanta, which will enable the City to deliver a tract of land to the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) under the terms of the recent agreement concerning the Atlanta BeltLine. The agreement requires the transfer of a parcel of land from the City of Atlanta to APS.

Register Vacant Property: It’s The Law

Under Article VI of the Housing Code, The City of Atlanta’s Code Enforcement Section of the Atlanta Police Department requires that all vacant properties be registered. Owners have 60 days from the date in which the property becomes vacant to register the property, 90 days to register a transferred vacant property. Registration is $100.00 per vacant real property.

Mayor Kasim Reed announced today that the Atlanta City Council has voted 13 to 1 to approve a measure to put a special local option sales tax (TSPLOST) referendum on the November ballot to fund transportation related infrastructure projects throughout the City of Atlanta.
