Marietta, GA – July 14, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — RE/MAX Greater Atlanta-Cobb is celebrating its 25th anniversary and, as part of that celebration, has set its sights on expanding its sales team.
In 2010, RE/MAX sold more homes in metro Atlanta—21,241—than any other brokerage. The next company sold more than 3,000 fewer homes. RE/MAX agents also averaged 13.1 transaction sides per agent in 2010—nearly double every other major real estate franchise.
“Our agents are experienced, successful and have been in real estate several years,” explained Ben Christopher, principal broker and co-owner of RE/MAX Greater Atlanta- Cobb. “With some positive signs that the local housing market is beginning to turn around, now is the time to add to our experienced sales team.”
Christopher admits the local real estate market has had its share of challenges in the last couple years. His firm, a completely separate franchise from RE/MAX Greater Atlanta, has also had to suffer guilt by association in recent months when that franchise dissolved.
“We are completely independent of this franchise, however, and our management team has taken steps in recent years to be financially solvent so we can continue to serve Cobb County and metro Atlanta home buyers and sellers.”
The data (compiled by Terradatum) supports Christopher’s comments. From April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011, RE/MAX was #1 for listings sold in the 20-county metro Atlanta region, capturing 17% of the market. The next competitors on the list were Keller Williams Realty at 14%, Coldwell Banker at 6% and Prudential Georgia Realty came in at just 5%.
With mortgage interest rates remaining below 5%, extremely competitive pricing, and more first-time home buyers entering the market, metro Atlanta real estate is slowly trying to turn the corner toward recovery. Ben Christopher and co-broker/owner Denny Jones say they want to work with agents who see this potential for recovery as well.
In return, RE/MAX Greater Atlanta-Cobb offers the many tools developed by RE/MAX International—including high brand recognition through frequent advertising; LeadStreet (a lead generation and management system tied to remax.com); RE/MAX University (which can even be used from the convenience of a home office); RE/MAX Design Center (a one-stop source for agents marketing pieces); and numerous other technology tools. Christopher’s office has also responded to changing technology, starting an internal blog for agents, establishing an active presence on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.
