House Passes National Flood Insurance Program
Washington, DC - July 16, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- The US House passed H.R. 5114, the Flood Insurance Reform Priorities Act of 2010. H.R. 5114 will reauthorize and improve the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), which is the primary source of reliable, affordable flood insurance coverage for millions of American homes and businesses. The bill includes an amendment by Congressman Scott to allow NFIP premiums to be paid in installments.
HOUSE VOTES TO EXTEND FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM
WASHINGTON, D.C. - June 24, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- With the support and backing of area Congressman Jack Kingston (R-GA), the U.S. House of Representatives today voted to extend the National Flood Insurance Program through September 30, 2010. The program, which lapsed on June 1, allows property and business owners as well as renters to purchase insurance against flood losses.
