WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 4, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) released the following statement after President Obama and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy released the final Clean Power Plan, a historic step in the Obama Administration’s fight against climate change:
“These landmark clean emissions and power generation standards – which are supported by millions of Americans from all over our country – demonstrate the United States’ commitment to limit the pollution that causes climate change. And they send an unmistakable message to the world that we all must work together to solve the greatest health and environment threat of our time,” said Johnson.
“The Clean Power Plan will help protect public health by placing first-ever limits on carbon pollution from power plants, invest in clean, renewable energy development and boost energy efficiency measures, while also providing incentives, flexibility and opportunity for states working to meet these important, common sense public health safeguards.”
