Department Enters into a Consent Order with Central Fidelity Mortgage Corporation and its Owner, Kim Strain
Atlanta, GA – July 31, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — On July 30, 2009, the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance (“Department”) entered into a Consent Order with Central Fidelity Mortgage Corporation, License Number 20543, formerly located at 3215 Haleys Way SE, Conyers, Georgia 30013, and its owner, Kim Strain, to resolve allegations pertaining to violations of the Georgia Residential Mortgage Act and agency rules.
The terms of the Consent Order are as follows:
- The revocation of the mortgage broker license of Central Fidelity Mortgage Corporation is effective as of July 30, 2009. Central Fidelity Mortgage Corporation can never apply to the Department for another license to be a mortgage broker or mortgage lender;
- Kim Strain shall complete a 4-hour educational course in Mortgage Fraud; and,
- For a five-year period, Kim Strain can only be affiliated with a Georgia mortgage broker or Georgia mortgage lender as an employee and is prohibited from applying for a mortgage broker’s or lender’s license. During this same time frame, Ms. Strain may not serve as a branch manager or direct the affairs or act as a director, officer, partner, equitable owner, or any other equivalent role of a Georgia mortgage broker or Georgia mortgage lender.
