Atlanta REALTORS® Association Holds Public Town Hall For Sandy Springs
Atlanta, GA (July 17, 2017) – (RealEstateRama) — The Atlanta REALTORS® Association held a town hall event for over a hundred residents of Sandy Springs on July 11th. The event was hosted at the Sandy Springs offices of the association, which has been located in Sandy Springs since 1989.
The event featured a panel of elected officials and business leaders from the area to discuss the current state and future of Sandy Springs. The four panelists were State Senator Brandon Beach, Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber President/CEO Tom Mahaffey, Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul, and Fulton County Schools Area Executive Director Kirk Shrum. The event was moderated by ARA Vice President DeAnn Golden and ARA Communications & Public Relations Committee Chair Christian Ross served as emcee.
The Atlanta REALTORS® hosted this town hall to connect the local community served by local REALTORS® with their elected officials, policy makers, and local industry leaders as well as to keep the community informed about issues important to them. The composition of the panel included a business leader, an education expert, and public policy leaders knowledgeable about area infrastructure, and reflect the same interests of Realtors and the public.
Committee Chair and emcee Christian Ross notes that, “Our purpose in creating this event was to help facilitate conversations between communities and their leaders. Feedback from the participants really helped us craft a community-led event with over two hundred questions received, over half of these specifically related to traffic in the City.”
ARA President Bill Rawlings notes that “Although the association represents much of the Greater Atlanta area, Sandy Springs is the association’s home which has emerged in many ways as a dynamic and exemplary new model city for engaging and serving its citizens.”
