Amendment For the State’s Homeless Prevention & Rapid Re-Housing Program

Atlanta, GA – April 27, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) requests public comment on the State’s Substantial Amendment to its FFY 2008 Consolidated Plan to include provisions for a new Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP).  The Consolidated Plan describes Georgia’s existing housing conditions and how the state, local, private and federal resources will be used to address the identified needs.

The HPRP Amendment will be published on April 30, 2009.  Program details will be available on DCA’s website at www.dca.ga.gov/housing/specialneeds/programs/HPRP.asp.  TDD users may contact DCA at (800) 736-1155 to request documents.  Copies may also be requested via email from DCA at .

Public comment is considered as an important component of the State’s evaluation process. Citizens may direct questions regarding this Substantial Amendment to DCA’s Office of Special Housing Initiatives at (404) 679-3170 or .  Comments are due on or before Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 5:00 PM.
