Commercial Real Estate Leader Recognized for Excellence in Building Management

TAMPA – March 05, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Carter, a privately held full-service commercial real estate firm founded in 1958, was recently awarded The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) Award in the Suburban Office Park Mid-Rise category by the Greater Tampa Bay Chapter of Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International. The award recognized Carter’s work on the Corporate Center Two and Three Buildings, located in the International Plaza at 4211 and 4221 W. Boy Scout Blvd., adjacent to the Tampa International Airport.

TOBY awards are the most prestigious and comprehensive programs of their kind in the commercial real estate industry. The awards recognize quality in office buildings and reward excellence in office building management. Buildings are judged on criteria ranging from community involvement and site management to environmental and “green” policies and procedures. All BOMA chapters select award recipients based upon the criteria set forth by BOMA International.

“We place a priority on stellar services and operation, and it is highly rewarding to be recognized by our peers for the diligence and dedication of our property management team, contractors and vendors,” said John Carter, executive vice president of Carter’s Tampa office.

Each of the Class-A Corporate Center office buildings comprises 10 floors and approximately 300,000 square feet. Tenants often select the location for the walking paths that surround the facility, fitness centers in each building, on-site café, ample parking and on-site property management.

As a result of this local nomination, Carter will be among a select number of firms to advance to the regional level for the second stage of the competition. Regional winners will compete for the 2008-2009 International TOBY award, which will be presented at the BOMA International Conference on June 28-30, 2009 in Philadelphia, Pa.
