Realtor Stephen Walker to Chair 2011 GAR Convention Committee

Fayetteville, GA – November 1, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Fayette County resident and REALTOR Stephen Walker recently attended the Georgia Association of REALTORS’ (GAR) 2010 Annual Convention & Trade Expo, held Sept. 22-25, at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Fla. While there, he was honored by the Women’s Council of Realtors with the Founders Award.

In addition, it was announced at the GAR Convention that Stephen Walker had been personally appointed by the 2011 GAR president-elect to be the chairman of the 2011 GAR Convention Committee. Stephen has long been involved with GAR and his local board, the Fayette County Board of Realtors, assisting with putting on functions, fundraisers and volunteering to serve on numerous committees. He is a past president of the Fayette chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors and has been honored by the Fayette Board as Realtor of the Year.

“I am so honored and excited about getting started with planning next year’s convention,” said Stephen Walker. “I have a long tradition to live up to and will do my best to make the Georgia Association of Realtors proud.”

During the Convention, Stephen participated in four days of educational training classes, special events just for GAR members well as several networking activities. Realtors were educated on a variety of topics, including license law updates, using video to market real estate and mortgage fraud. These courses are designed to help Realtors better serve their clients and the public by understanding the latest issues in real estate.
