2008 Homeownership Summit
On Saturday, June 28th, from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm, various agencies and organizations that promote affordable housing, including the Atlanta Board of REALTORS®, will host the 2008 Homeownership Summit at the Georgia World Congress Center. This event is free to the public and will be an educational opportunity for potential homebuyers to learn about the home buying process, and for current homeowners to learn about how to protect their investment and sustain homeownership.Educational sessions will be offered throughout the day with advice and information from real estate agents, housing counselors, lenders, builders, and government agency officials on issues and topics such as:
- Pros and cons of homeownership
- Improving your credit score
- Mortgage products
- Mortgage and down payment assistance programs
- Maintaining your home
- How to avoid foreclosure
- How to refinance and secure a better rate
- How to avoid rip-offs and scams
Attendees who participate in all sessions will receive a certificate to be used when obtaining down payment assistance from government agencies.
